If you were to die today, are you 100% sure that you would go to Heaven?
Every once in a while, an opportunity comes along that is too good to pass up. It could be an event, a job, or a purchasing deal. God has one such opportunity. It is the opportunity to have your sin forgiven and to go to Heaven. Like all opportunities, there is an expiration date. That date is the day we die. Since we do not know when we will die, we must take advantage of this opportunity quickly. Here are the details of God’s Golden Opportunity:
All men are sinners. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) Every man who has ever lived or ever will live is a sinner. Our sin is what keeps us out of heaven. No matter how good we try to be we still come short. Our good deeds cannot erase our sins.
There is a payment for sin. “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a) “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” (Revelation 20:14) The payment for sin is death both physically and spiritually. When a man dies in his sin, he must go to Hell. When man goes to Hell, he goes as an intruder. Hell was never meant for mankind.
Jesus paid our sin debt. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ out Lord.” (Romans6:23b) God loves us so much that He became a man and shed His own blood to pay for our sins. The wage is death, and Christ died. He died on the cross, was buried, and rose again the third day to pay for our sin. In doing so, He also purchased the gift of eternal life or Heaven. A gift is not yours until you take it.
You must receive only Jesus Christ as your Saviour. “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?” (Romans 10:10, 13-14a) Since Heaven is not a physical gift, God tells us how to take it. We must admit to Him that we are sinners deserving of Hell and ask Him to save us and give us a home in Heaven. At the same time we must put all our trust in Him and nothing or nobody else.
“Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that my sin will send me to Hell, but I don’t want to go to Hell. I believe that you died on the cross, were buried, and rose again to pay for my sin. I put all my trust in that. Please, save me and take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for saving me. Amen.”
